Community Service Hours

**Grade 12 students only require 20 hours of community service for graduation during the 2020-2021 school year.

For the 2020-2021 school year, students who are 14 years and older may record up to a maximum of 10 hours from paid employment towards their earned hours at the discretion of the Principal. Students counting paid employment towards their graduation requirement will be required to complete a reflection exercise indicating how their work contributed to the service for others.

Every student must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities as part of the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The purpose of the community involvement requirement is to encourage students to develop awareness and understanding of civic responsibility and of the role they can play and the contributions they can make in supporting and strengthening their communities.

Please see Guidance in Room 101 for upcoming volunteer opportunities available to students.
